About Us

San Lorenzo Ruiz Choir (SLRC) is a chorale group established in 1996, founded by Fr. Mexicano Javier, SX. Originally established as a school of music offering guitar, keyboard, violin, and flute lessons—where many of the members began their journeys as instrumentalists.

Over the years, the group welcomed new members who share the same passion for singing and commitment to serving God through music.

Today, the ministry continues to offer their time and talent in service of Church Masses both at Saint Francis Xavier Parish in Quezon City and at the Chapel of the Holy Family in Fairview Terraces.

Beyond Church Masses, the group is often invited to sing at special occasions, such as baptisms, funerals, and weddings.

Why Join Us?

A Choir is more than just a singing group.

  • It allows you to use your talent to praise God and to serve the community.
  • It deepens your spiritual connection as music becomes a form of prayer.
  • It enhances your voice and trains your ears for harmony.
  • It is a bridge that forms a lasting relationship with those who share a love for music and God.
  • It is a shared purpose of serving that brings a unique kind of joy and fulfillment.

Scholar, Philippine Madrigal Singers’ Online Choral Leadership Program 5 Assistant Conductor, Rehearsal Master, Auditor & Board Member – GANAP Performing Arts

I’m truly grateful to be a current scholar of the Philippine Madrigal Singers’ Online Choral Leadership Program 5, and to serve as Assistant Conductor, Rehearsal Master, Auditor, and Board Member of GANAP Performing Arts. I wouldn’t be who I am today without SLRC, who welcomed me not just as a choir member, but as family—serving the Lord with love and strengthening my faith since 2011.

Having been in SLRC for almost 15 years now, has undoubtedly shaped the person I am today. The camaraderie we built over the years, the harmony we shared, were all driven with the purpose of serving God through music. Joining this choir really made me grow and developed musically, professionally and above all spiritually.

Winner, 2023 True FM Choral Competition | Former Member, Light of the Nation Singers

At San Lorenzo Ruiz Choir, I found joy in singing with no pressure—just good vibes, laughter, and genuine connection. Even after joining Light of the Nation Singers and winning the 2023 True FM Choral Competition, I’ll never forget where it all began. SLRC will always feel like home.

16 years strong! I’ve been with San Lorenzo Ruiz Choir since 2008, and it’s been one big, joyful ride. SLRC isn’t just a choir—it’s my family, my constant, and the community that shaped who I am. Here’s to more years of music, laughter, and love.

I joined SLRC because I wanted to try new things and step out of my comfort zone. Of course, adjusting wasn't easy at first, but it was worth it. My ates and kuyas were always there to help me. I'm very happy because of the bond I’ve built with them while being guided by the Lord.
